Pipe Rehabilitation Guide

What relining is, and when it is not the answer

Rehabilitation begins with assessment.

Pipe Rehabilitation Guide covers assessment-first rehabilitation planning and the inspection evidence each option depends on.

This site focuses on assessment-first rehabilitation planning: evidence before method, method before quote.

How it works

  1. Describe the symptoms. Call or email with what you see, hear or smell, and when it appears.
  2. On-site investigation. Non-invasive methods narrow the search: acoustic, thermal, moisture, tracer gas or line tracing as needed.
  3. Confirm the source. Every clue is confirmed by a second method before it is reported.
  4. Written report. Findings, evidence, limitations and next steps, formatted for owners, managers and insurers.

Common questions

Do you perform relining?

No. The Leak.ca network inspects, locates and documents; relining is performed by licensed contractors.

Is relining better than replacement?

It depends on condition. Straight, structurally sound pipe with cracks or roots can suit lining; deformed or collapsed lines usually cannot.

How long does a liner last?

Lifespan claims come from manufacturers and installers; treat them as estimates and check the warranty terms.

Can you verify a completed liner?

Yes. Post-installation CCTV documents the finished liner and its transitions.
